Welado Group Acquires Seclion Oy – Strengthening Nordic Expertise in Critical Infrastructure Security

Welado Group has acquired Seclion Oy, a Finnish consulting company specializing in cyber-physical security. The acquisition marks a strategic step in Welado’s growth journey, reinforcing its position as a leading expert in security-critical sectors across the Nordics.

Seclion brings deep expertise in administrative, physical, and cybersecurity. Its services include security assessments, planning, testing, and procurement consulting. This acquisition aligns with Welado’s vision to be the most sought-after platform for meaningful expertise in the built environment sector and supports its expansion into defence and security consulting—areas where demand is rapidly increasing.

“We began collaborating with Seclion earlier this year to better respond to our clients’ needs. This partnership now evolves into a shared vision, goals, and everyday work,” says Noora Haverinen, CEO of Welado.

For Seclion, the move is a natural progression.

“Our mission since day one has been to build a safer society. Joining Welado allows us to grow and secure our future as a Nordic pioneer in cyber-physical security. We’re proud to combine our expertise with Welado’s extensive network, offering clients not only high-quality security services but also broader support when needed,” says Niko Ryhänen, CEO of Seclion Oy.

He continues:
“A shared value base and complementary expertise have been key to this successful acquisition. Our clients will benefit from an expanded service offering, and our team will gain new opportunities to grow within international Welado. With Welado-OMT’s defence industry experience and the Swedish client base, we see significant potential in Seclion’s traditional areas of strength, especially in Sweden.”

The integration of Seclion’s capabilities into Welado group’s multidisciplinary consulting services enables more comprehensive solutions across the entire lifecycle—from planning to implementation and operation.

“In construction projects, we can now jointly develop our services and sustainability by embedding security into the broader framework of risk management, safety, environmental responsibility, and social accountability,” Noora adds.

Seclion will continue to operate as an independent company for now, with Niko Ryhänen remaining in his role as CEO. The acquisition will not affect clients or ongoing projects—daily operations continue as usual.

“We’re already exploring synergies with the entire team. Several promising ideas and concrete initiatives are underway. Niko and his team also bring valuable input to Welado Group’s internal security leadership and development. We aim to be a forerunner in this area as well,” Noora concludes.
